Raise a Glass to the Diablo this Halloween

While the kids enjoy trick or treating through the neighborhoods for the best candy; the older, more sophisticated generations can trick or treat with some wine.

Casillero del Diablo is surprising its consumers once again, this time in Singapore with its Devilish Release. This special edition of the world-renowned Cabernet Sauvignon stands out from the rest, with its innovative and bold avant-garde design.

Tracing back to the 19th century, the Chilean wine legend was born when Don Melchor de Concha y Toro found that bottles of wine were disappearing from his cellar. In order to keep the thieves at bay, he spread a rumour that the devil lived in his cellar. Inspired by this mysterious legend, the Devilish Release was conceptualised. With the unique product innovation, Halloween will never be the same when one drinks the wine from the Diablo’s lair.

“The Devilish Release was created to capture the most striking elements of Casillero del Diablo. The story of the Diablo is an important part of our brand heritage and this bottle design is a tribute to the Diablo’s flames that protect the bottle from harm”, affirmed Nani Mulet, Head of Marketing, Asia Pacific, ViƱa Concha y Toro.

“Wine drinkers in Singapore love to celebrate occasions and raise a glass with their friends. The Devilish Release is our way of introducing a special tipple at Halloween; whether you’re chilling on the sofa in front of your favourite scary movie or out with friends at a bar or restaurant – this is the wine for the occasion.”

The Devilish Release
As the saying goes, the devil is in the detail and this rings true for the Devilish Release. Produced from Chile’s best red wine regions, it delivers pleasing aromas of cherries and blackcurrants on the nose. The subtle touch of vanilla from ageing in oak barrels promises a satisfying finish - even the Diablo won’t be able to pry the glass from your hands.

“Deep, intense ruby red and medium bodied with silky tannins, the Cabernet Sauvignon is easy on the palate and is perfect with red meat and aged cheese. It also pairs beautifully with local fare such as Char Kway Teow, Peking Duck, and Indian Tikka.” shared Mohammad Fazil, Ruinart Singapore Sommelier Challenge 2017 Winner who recently joined the Vina Concha Y Toro team as the brand ambassador.

The Devilish Release is cuurently available at all NTUC FairPrice supermarkets and at Redmart from SGD$32.50*. Grab a bottle and have a devilishly good time with your friends this Halloween!
